Shri Ram Janki Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh is an old and respected temple dedicated to Lord Ram and Mata Sita, located on the sacred Ram Path in the holy city of Ayodhya. The temple lies approximately 500 metres from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for devotees of Lord Ram. The famous Hanuman Garhi Temple is located earlier on the same path, while the sacred Saryu River is around 700 metres away. The temple is also situated beside the well known Shri Chhoti Devkali Mandir.
The temple is believed to be around 150 to 200 years old and has been an important place of worship for devotees visiting Ayodhya. Inside the sanctum, devotees can have darshan of Ashtadhatu idols of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lord Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman. Due to the antiquity and historical value of these idols, they are registered and certified with the Archaeological Survey of India.
The temple was established by Shri Nath Mishra Ji, who was the ancestor of the present temple lineage. Since its establishment, the temple has continued to serve as a place where devotees offer prayers to Lord Ram and Mata Janaki while visiting the important pilgrimage circuit of Ayodhya.
